HARRISBURG – The PA Family Institute has expressed its disappointment in the Trump Administration backed tax breaks for the marijuana industry that PA Family’s Chief Strategy Officer, Dan Bartkowiak , describes as an addiction-for-profit industry. Bartkowiak continues, “Big Marijuana should not be allowed to more easily target new consumers with harmful marijuana products. In Pennsylvania, the recreational use of marijuana remains illegal, a policy maintained thus far by sensible leaders in the PA Senate. Maintaining that people-first policy helps to avoid many public health and safety challenges seen in other states. Evidence continues to link marijuana use, especially among young people, to increased emergency room visits, mental health concerns, and negative impacts on families and communities. We should put Pennsylvania families first and oppose efforts to expand marijuana legalization in our Commonwealth.”
