LANCASTER COUNTY – A Lancaster County man died after a weekend pedestrian accident. On Saturday, May 2 around 1 p.m., police responded to Sheetz at 2425 Old Philadelphia Pike in Lancaster for a pedestrian struck by a tractor trailer. Authorities report that a tractor trailer driven by a 30-year-old man from Enola, Cumberland County, was traveling east through the parking lot and came to a stop for other vehicular traffic. After traffic cleared, the tractor trailer proceeded forward striking 75-year-old Daniel Sweeney from Gordonville, who was walking from the gas pumps towards the front of the store in front of the truck. Sweeney succumbed to injuries he sustained and was pronounced deceased on scene. East Lampeter Township Police is still investigating the incident.
