HARRISBURG – The PA Department of Labor & Industry says the state’s unemployment rate was unchanged at 4.2% in March. The PA rate was one-tenth of a percentage point below the U.S. unemployment rate, which fell one-tenth of a point from February to 4.3%. PA’s civilian labor force – the estimated number of residents working or looking for work – was up 6,000 over the month to over 6.5 million in March. Employment was up 9,000 and unemployment declined by 3,000 from February. PA’s total non-farm jobs were up 12,500 over the month in March. Jobs increased in six of the 11 industry super-sectors.
