HARRISBURG – The PA House approved legislation allowing body cameras to be worn by county probation officers. House Bill 2299 would change the language in PA’s Wiretap Act to allow county probation officers to be equipped with body cameras, increasing safety of law enforcement and the community while promoting greater transparency. Currently, county probation officers are not included in the specific language of the state’s Wiretap Act. The measure heads to the PA Senate.
