YORK – The York City Police Department and the United States Marshal arrested 17-year-old shooting suspect Mijiere Hillian in connection to a homicide in York City last week. On Wednesday, February 19th, at just after 7:20pm, York City Police responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of N. Queen St., where officers found 21-year-old Izayah Thomas-Reid deceased from a gunshot wound. The investigation into the shooting led detectives to the 17-year-old Hillian, who was arrested on Friday. Hillian has been charged with criminal homicide, second-degree murder, and two counts of robbery – inflicting serious bodily injury, and is being held without bail. The shooting occurred just four days after the York City Police Department posted a message online celebrating the fact that York had gone 100 days without a gun violence incident.
