LANCASTER – Our region is under a heat advisory from 11 a.m. today through 8 p.m. Friday. Heat index values of up to 103 degrees are expected. The hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat related illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned room. Check up on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate water and shelter from the sun. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances as during hot weather, the interior of a vehicle can reach lethal temperatures in minutes. Look before you lock.
