STATE COLLEGE – Penn State students danced the weekend away at the annual THON event, and they broke the event’s fundraising record in the process. Penn State announced that this year’s THON fundraising campaign raised a grand total of $17,737,040.93, exceeding their 2024 total of $16,955,683.63 by nearly one million dollars. The money raised by THON benefits the Four Diamonds Fund, which helps to provide both emotional and financial support to families affected by pediatric cancer at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. Created in 1973, THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, and consists of an annual year-long fundraising campaign that comes to a close with the 46-hour-long dance marathon at the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State’s campus.
