LANCASTER – Lancaster Police arrested a man after he had apparently stolen a vehicle. Yesterday around 6:37 p.m., officers attempted to locate a stolen vehicle that was taken from the 600 block of Poplar Street. Police located the vehicle in the area of East King Street and South Ann Street. An individual, identified as 35-year-old Reicel Paneque-Gavilan, ran from the vehicle and entered his home in the Garden Court Apartments. After he entered the apartment, officers were able to safely remove two adult individuals from the apartment while Paneque-Gavilan remained inside. Out of an abundance of caution, officers evacuated surrounding apartments and closed streets in the immediate area. Officers were able to get him to leave the apartment, and he was taken into custody without injury. There is no danger to the public at this time. Area streets have reopened and the families have returned to the evacuated apartments.
