HARRISBURG –Monroe County Rep. Jack Rader plans to propose legislation which would remove the requirement that a paper license itself be carried on someone who is hunting or furtaking in PA. A clear photo or digital copy of a license stored on a phone, access to license information through HuntFishPA on a mobile device, or verification through the PA Game Commission’s licensing system can provide ample evidence that a person is properly licensed. Modern technology has made the physical-possession requirement unnecessary. It would not eliminate the requirement to purchase a valid license or authorize anyone to hunt or trap without the required privileges.
