HARRISBURG – PHEAA is encouraging PA students who are planning to enroll in a community college, a designated PA Open-Admission institution, a business, trade, or technical school, a hospital school of nursing, or a 2-year program that is not transferable to another institution to submit their FAFSA by August 1 to be considered for a PA State Grant award. The PA State Grant Program is a need-based grant that does not need to be repaid. It uses the FAFSA form as its primary application point to determine student eligibility for a PA State Grant award. Students and families are encouraged to visit PHEAA.org where they can learn more about the higher education financial aid process, get reminders of financial aid deadlines, and find information pertaining to planning for higher education.
