PERRY COUNTY – A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening after a crash in Perry County. State Police say 28-year-old James Snyder, Jr. of Millerstown was traveling east on his motorcycle in the 1700 block of Shermans Valley Road in Spring Township when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The cycle left the road, traveled an embankment, then returned to the roadway, where it sideswiped a westbound vehicle driven by 60-year-old David Carlson, Jr of Loysville. Both units came to rest in the westbound lanes. Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene. Police report he was wearing a helmet. Carlson suffered a minor injury and was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital for evaluation.
