LANCASTER COUNTY – A Lancaster County man was charged with stabbing his sister to death and injuring his brother during a knife attack in his home Monday morning. 26-year-old Bryan Adolph was charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and possessing an instrument of crime. He is accused of stabbing his 28-year-old sister. Elyse Adolph to death inside his residence in the 1100 block of Persimmon Drive in East Hempfield Township shortly after 10:30 a.m. Another victim, Adolph’s 24-year-old brother, told police that Adolph had stabbed him and Elyse inside the residence before he armed himself with a handgun in self-defense. Adolph’s brother was taken to an area hospital for treatment. In a police interview, Adolph said he became angry when the victims’ dogs were constantly barking. At one point, Adolph grabbed and punched one of the dogs. Elyse witnessed Adolph striking the dog and confronted him. That’s when Adolph grabbed several small knives from a kitchen drawer and began attacking Elyse. During the attack, Adolph’s brother attempted to intervene and was himself attacked. Adolph fled the home and was later caught by police near Good Drive and Route 30. Adolph is being held in Lancaster County Prison.
