COLUMBIA – A Lancaster County man was arrested after he stole an ambulance. Yesterday around 4:30 a.m., Columbia Borough Police were called to the area of the 11th Street and Grinnell Avenue for a theft of an ambulance. The ambulance was on a call at the time, and a member of the ambulance crew went out to retrieve equipment and heard the motor revving and then pulling away. The ambulance drove back into the area, and a member of the ambulance crew was able to restrain 23-year-old Elijah Leed of Columbia, who was driving the ambulance until police arrived and took him into custody. Leed was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking and Driving Without a License. Leed was taken to central booking and placed in Lancaster County Prison.
