LANCASTER COUNTY – A Lancaster County man charged with stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of items from more than 40 vehicles will have his case proceed to county court. 27-year-old Logan Mesteller of East Petersburg waived a preliminary hearing on charges of theft from a motor vehicle, loitering and prowling at night, and receiving stolen property. Mesteller is accused of stealing items from 42 different vehicles in various locations across Manheim Township, often during the late evening or early morning hours on at least five different occasions between mid-February and early April. Items stolen included clothes, bank cards, cash, fishing gear, medications, and electronics. Police used residential surveillance footage that captured Mesteller stealing from the vehicles. Police recovered several stolen items when they searched his residence. Mesteller remains in Lancaster County Prison.
