HARRISBURG – Local police are joining departments across the state in putting an emphasis on impaired driving enforcement. Beginning tomorrow and running through St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th, police will be running impaired driving operations, including roving DUI patrols and sobriety checkpoints along with high visibility enforcement activity. With St. Patrick’s Day being a typically heavy day for drinking, police hope that increased awareness in the week leading up to the holiday can help to curb accidents, particularly those caused by driving under the influence of alcohol.
