HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) reopened the Route 30/Route 222 interchange in Manheim Township, Lancaster County, to traffic. The interchange had been closed since Friday evening for bridge beam setting, deck pan installation, and overhead sign structure erection as part of the Route 30/Route 222 Interchange Improvement Project. Five bridge beams were set on the new bridge that will eventually carry eastbound Route 30 to northbound Route 222 traffic.
The project also the reconstruction of Route 222 from the interchange north approximately one mile near Stoner Park, expanding it from four lanes to six lanes.
Travelers should be alert and drive with caution while traveling through the work zone.
