PITTSBURGH – Gov. Josh Shapiro ordered U.S. and Commonwealth flags on all state facilities, public buildings, and grounds across PA to fly at half-staff yesterday to honor PA firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service during National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. The governor was in Pittsburgh at the dedication of a memorial for PA firefighters who died in the line of duty. The governor said every day, firefighters across PA literally run towards danger to keep our neighbors safe from harm – and we owe it to these heroes to have their backs.
