YORK COUNTY – One person died after a Saturday crash along Interstate 83. According to Maryland State Police, a 48-year-old male motorcyclist was southbound on I-83 near Exit 36 with a group of motorcyclists when they entered a construction zone with uneven surfaces. The area was clearly marked alerting drivers of the road conditions. While switching lanes, police say the motorcyclist crashed and was thrown from his bike. A second motorcyclist crashed while attempting to avoid the other motorcyclist. The 48-year-old victim was taken to York Hospital where he later died. The condition of the second motorcyclist was not known. Neither has yet been identified.
