WASHINGTON, DC – A bipartisan letter from PA U.S. Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman has been sent to USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins to request a Secretarial Disaster Designation after unprecedented spring weather events led to devastating economic loss for PA’s farmers. Growers of specialty crops like apples, peaches, pears, and grapes from across the Commonwealth experienced unseasonably warm temperatures and premature blooms followed by late spring freezes, leading to partial or total loss of their 2026 crops.
