HARRISBURG – The PA House Education Committee has advanced legislation that would allow PA students to take off school for their mental health. By a 14-11 vote, the panel approved House Bill 1519 which allows students to take three excused absences for mental health reasons without requiring a doctor’s note. Several other states have passed similar legislation. The measure now goes to the full House for consideration.
