LANCASTER COUNTY – An accident claimed the life of a child in Lancaster County. On Saturday, Feb. 7 around 8:42 a.m., East Lampeter Township Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Newport Road for an incident involving a tractor and a child. It was determined an adult male was operating the tractor in the northbound lane of the 300 block of Newport Road when a 2-year-old female fell from the tractor and was run over by the rear tire. EMS, Police, and Fire responded to the scene to render aid, but the child died from her injuries. Investigators responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
