HARRISBURG – A bipartisan resolution introduced by York County Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill and Lehigh County Sen. Lisa Boscola to establish a statewide “Sweet & Salty Trail” celebrating PA’s world-renowned snack food and confection industry has passed the PA Senate Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee. Senate Resolution 128 directs the Department of Community and Economic Development to work with PA businesses and tourism partners to develop a trail highlighting the state’s iconic brands, regional favorites, and small and mid-sized companies that make PA the snack capital of the nation. With the nation preparing to celebrate its 250th anniversary, the senators said the timing is ideal to showcase PA’s heritage and culinary legacy.
