LANCASTER – An Adamstown man will spend decades in state prison after pleading guilty to strangling his mother to death in March 2023. A Lancaster County judge sentenced 28-year-old Zachary Gift to 35 to 80 years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to third degree murder, robbery, two counts of strangulation, and theft by unlawful taking – all felony offenses. The incident happened in their home in the 300 block of Grant Road around 11 p.m. on March 19, 2023.
