HARRISBURG – PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll thanked PennDOT crews who work around the clock to keep Pennsylvanians safe after our recent wintry weather. Carroll said, “We were ready and able to meet the needs of the public, and across PA; the response to this storm was tremendous.” The storm, which began over the weekend and stretched across 35 states, brought snow, sleet, and freezing rain to all 67 PA counties, with snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour in some areas. Nearly 4,700 PennDOT workers operated more than 2,600 plow trucks and other equipment, with over 500,000 tons of salt stockpiled statewide.
