LANCASTER COUNTY – A Lancaster County man charged with repeatedly firing an illegal gun inside his apartment will have his case proceed to county court. 33-year-old Seth Davies of New Holland waived his preliminary hearing on a count of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, possessing a prohibited offensive weapon, and recklessly endangering another person. Davies is accused of firing the handgun 10 times inside his apartment in the 100 block of East Main Street during the early morning hours of Jan. 9. Investigators found nearly a dozen shell casings and bullet fragments in Davies’ bedroom as well as holes in furniture, walls, and a metal cabinet scattered throughout the residence. Another weapon, a sawed-off shotgun, was recovered from underneath Davies’ bed and was found to have multiple illegal modifications. Police were first called to the apartment complex shortly before 1 a.m. for a report of shots being fired from inside Davies’ unit, but were unable to make contact with him. Officers eventually entered Davies’ apartment after his mother provided them verbal consent to do so. Davies remains in Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
