LANCASTER COUNTY – A Lancaster County woman died after a Tuesday crash. State Police say a car driven by 87-year-old Alice Reich of New Providence was westbound on Holtwood Road in Drumore Township when she missed a turn and attempted a u-turn at the intersection of Penny Road. She turned into the path of a truck driven by 76-year-old Charles Weir, Jr of Kemblesville, Chester County. As a result of the impact, Reich’s vehicle struck a mailbox while the truck went off the side of the road into a field. Reich was taken by EMS to Lancaster General where she died. A passenger in Reich’s vehicle suffered a suspected minor injury. Weir was not injured. State Police report that dense fog conditions were present at the time of the crash.
