Make this Free Family Fun Day the kickoff to your holiday season. Open houses will be held at four locations on Furnace Road – New Bridgeville Fire Hall (2870 Furnace Road), St. Luke Church (2666 Furnace Road), Bethel Church (1674 Furnace Road) and Indian Steps Museum (205 Indian Steps Road). Start at any location and then proceed to the other three stops. Visit all four locations and have your name submitted in a drawing to receive a $50 gift card.
Highlights of the tour will include a variety of Christmas themes. The Fire Hall will have displays of handcrafted Christmas items, holiday fire safety tips, and children’s Christmas books. An onsite wood turning ornament maker and Santa will also be on site to visit with the children.
St. Luke Church and Bethel Church will both have decorated sanctuaries and be sharing live music throughout the afternoon. Bethel will have various types of nativity scenes on display, a make it take it craft area for the children, and a photo op area where visitors may dress to portray the holy birth.
At Indian Steps you will have the opportunity to tour the facility while enjoying the decorations, music and refreshments. Green Thumb Garden Club is also providing Christmas items to buy. There will be some crafts to make. Of course, beautiful scenery to take in along the Susquehanna River including the “Old Holly Tree ” that was once struck by lightning and continues to survive today.
