LANCASTER – A Lancaster County man has been charged with causing the death of his infirmed girlfriend by severely neglecting her. 60-year-old Ronald Bender of Conestoga Township was charged with neglect of a care-dependent person, endangering the welfare of a care-dependent person, and involuntary manslaughter. Bender is accused of leaving 62-year-old Carolyn Trimble-Weber in deplorable conditions at her home in the 500 block of Lancaster Pike in Providence Township prior to her death in September 2024. Two doctors told investigators that had proper care been provided, Trimble-Weber’s outcome could have been different. After a year of investigation, Bender admitted to police that the care he provided had been inadequate. Bender is currently free on $25,000 bail.
