HARRISBURG – A yearlong investigation into suspected fraudulent voter registration forms in PA has led to criminal charges against six street canvassers and their leader. PA Attorney General Dave Sunday said the fraud was motivated by financial gain, not an attempt to influence election results. The man who led the drives in PA was 33-year-old Guillermo Sainz, who was charged with illegally offering money to meet quotas. The six canvassers are charged with forgery and tampering with records. The investigation began in late October 2024 when election workers in one county flagged about 2,500 forms for potential fraud. The forms included all party affiliations. The investigation involved reviews of several thousands of voter registration forms that were delivered on or close to the voter registration deadline in Berks, Lancaster, and York Counties.
