HARRISBURG – Sen. Doug Mastriano of Adams & Franklin Counties plans to introduce legislation aimed at establishing a PA Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE in an effort to ensure that taxpayer funds are utilized effectively and responsibly. Key provisions of the proposal would include accountability to the Legislature, auditing authority, and have power to suspend payments. The agency could dissolve departments that are wasteful and would be required to provide detailed reports addressing the reasons for defunding the specific agency, program, or initiative. Mastriano is circulating a co-sponsorship memo seeking support of his proposal.
