WASHINGTON, DC – If you were expecting mail in your mailbox today, you probably won’t find any. The U.S. Postal Service has suspended regular mail delivery, retail services, and office activity today due to a national day of observance to honor former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29 at age 100. President Joe Biden declared today as a national day of mourning for Carter, ordering all federal agencies to be closed. There will be limited package delivery service today to ensure the organization does not experience any negative impacts to its package delivery operations. The Postal Service will resume its regular activities tomorrow.
