HARRISBURG – Crews battled a working building fire last night at the former Harrisburg State Hospital. Units responded to the area around 10:40 p.m. after a call of a brush fire, but discovered a three story building was on fire. A lack of working fire hydrants in the area hindered the battling of the blaze. The former state hospital had been closed and was set to be transformed into a laboratory complex for several state agencies. No injuries were reported. A cause of the fire is under investigation.
