HARRISBURG – With bipartisan support, PA House lawmakers approved legislation that would ensure timely and accurate presidential election results. House Bill 2473 establishes firm deadlines for the state to certify presidential election results. This would include PA completing its canvassing, recounting, contesting, and certification procedures within established deadlines set by the Electoral Count Reform Act. For this year’s presidential election, the deadline would be Dec. 11, 2024. Bill sponsor, York County Rep. Seth Grove noted that current state law lacks these important deadlines. He added that election integrity is a nonpartisan issue. The bill awaits consideration in the state Senate.
