YORK COUNTY – York County’s West Manchester Township Police responded to a call at Sunset Lane Park on Saturday August 9th at 6:31 p.m. where a juvenile female was interacting with an adult male. Police say the girl was trying to push the male away and it appeared she was being coerced or forced by the older male. Police responded and located the subjects. The adult male, 32-year-old Alvin James of York is currently on the Megan’s Law list from Maryland. As officers were gathering information, James turned his vehicle on and fled the scene. James led officers on a high speed pursuit from Sunset Lane to Carlisle Road southbound and struck a citizen vehicle north of Loucks Road. James fled on foot from the crash. He ran into residential neighborhoods and was pursued by officers who established a perimeter and was located on South Emerald Avenue. James faces numerous charges. He is being held in York County Prison. The incident remains under investigation.
