HANOVER York County Rep. Kate Klunk was named to the Task Force on Child Pornography to further combat child sexual abuse in PA. The lawmaker said, “Child abuse is sadly a major problem in PA, with sexual abuse being the leading type of abuse. As a member of the task force, I believe we can make a real difference in combating this vicious crime that impacts too many defenseless young people.” There were 4,593 substantiated reports of child abuse in PA last year. The Task Force will review all laws pertaining to child pornography and will issue a report next year with recommendations on ways to improve the investigation and prosecution of offenders so that perpetrators of these heinous crimes are held accountable.
