HARRISBURG – Gov. Tom Wolf signed a measure into law dedicating a York County bridge near Lake Redman in honor of fallen Marine Corps Cpl. Michael Cohen. Cohen attended Dallastown Area School District and York Technical Institute. He enlisted in the Marines, opted out of his York Tech graduation, and moved up his enlistment date following the 9-11 terrorist attacks. The Marine was involved in a deadly battle in Fallujah, which would later be known as the “bloodiest battle since Vietnam” in 2004. He paid the ultimate sacrifice on November 22 that year. The Cpl. Michael Cohen Memorial Bridge will be located along Iron Stone Hill Road over Inners Creek near Lake Redman. York County Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill, who sponsored the measure, will hold a dedication ceremony for family and friends later this year which will be live-streamed on Phillips-Hill’s Facebook page.
