READING (AP) – A Berks County woman is seeking taxpayer funds to pay for her defense on murder charges in the deaths of her two children found hanging in their basement last fall. A Berks County judge was told that 37-year-old Lisa Snyder cannot afford her defense and filed a motion seeking funding for expert witnesses she’ll need at trial. The judge took the motion to declare her indigent under advisement. Snyder is charged with first and third-degree murder and other charges in the September deaths of her 4 and 8-year-old children. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
