HARRISBURG (AP) – Gov. Tom Wolf says it’s time for lawmakers to get on board with his proposed college scholarship program. He says the program is urgently needed because of difficulties finding workers across industries. Wolf says the time is right because the state is currently in a strong financial position. Wolf’s proposal, called the Nellie Bly Scholarship Program, came just before the pandemic. The program is funded mostly by American Rescue Plan dollars along with some money from a racehorse fund. It makes community college students eligible along with students at one of the 14 state system universities.
