LANCASTER – Lancaster is joining cities across the world in the Vision Zero movement to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. To achieve the goal in Lancaster by 2030, the city is working with the community and partners to develop a Vision Zero Action Plan to make streets safe for all people. At the center of Vision Zero is the recognition that humans make mistakes and streets should be designed to minimize the impacts of those mistakes. The public comment period for the plan is underway and will end October 16. The plan will then be finalized for Traffic Commission approval and City Council adoption at their November meetings.
