HARRISBURG – Two PA Senate committees are holding a joint hearing today to examine the PA Turnpike’s plan to lay-off at least 500 employees as part of its switch to an all-electronic tolling system. The Senate Transportation Committee and Senate Labor and Industry Committee will conduct the hearing which would include testimony from Turnpike Chief Executive Officer Mark Compton and Chief Operating Officer Craig Shuey. Testimony will also come from current and past Turnpike Commissioners and several union leaders.
