BALTIMORE/DOVER (AP) – Maryland’s first doses of the new COVID-19 vaccine have arrived at two Baltimore hospitals as health care workers at one of the facilities began to get inoculated. A shipment of the Pfizer vaccine arrived at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Johns Hopkins Medicine said in a statement that it had received its initial doses and expects to begin administering shots to frontline healthcare workers on Wednesday. Meanwhile, state officials say Delaware received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine. The first shipment arrived at Bayhealth’s Kent County location in Dover. The Division of Public Health expects to receive the remainder of Delaware’s 8,775 initial Pfizer vaccine doses on Wednesday and will begin scheduling delivery to other health facilities.
