CARLISLE – Investigators are trying to understand why a small plane crashed into a hovering State Police helicopter. The Wednesday collision killed the plane’s pilot, 57-year-old Dr. Paul Sokoloski of Hershey, and injured two state troopers. The National Transportation Safety Board says there’s no immediate explanation for the crash. The incident at Carlisle Regional Airport involved a Bell 407 helicopter and a Cessna 150. The Cessna was landing when it veered and collided with the helicopter. The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause.
