HARRISBURG – State officials, the governor, and law enforcement personnel gathered at the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg as part of the Fraternal Order of Police’s annual Memorial Service to pay respects to PA law enforcement officers that lost their lives in the line of duty. Attendees honored Philadelphia Police Officer Jaime Roman who died in the line of duty in 2024 and Officer Andrew Duarte of the West York Borough Police who died in the line of duty this year. Senate Resolution 97 was offered in the PA Senate to designate the week of May 11-17 as “National Police Week” and May 5 as “Police Officers’ Memorial Day” in the Keystone State.
