LANCASTER – Our region is under an excessive heat warning for today and tomorrow. Meteorologist Joe Lundberg says it will feel between 105-110 degrees from the oppressive heat and humidity. There is also the possibility of some severe storms through our area. The excessive heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities. Air quality will be reduced and persons unusually sensitive to air pollution may be affected. Drink plenty of liquids, stay out of the sun when possible, and find air conditioned areas to stay throughout the period. Check up on relatives, particularly those who are elderly and with health conditions, and provide pets with adequate shade and water.
