LANCASTER – A judge sentenced a Lancaster teen to nine to 20 years in state prison after attempting to shoot a man to death in an ambush outside of his home. 17-year-old Amari Poole pleaded guilty to attempted criminal homicide, carrying a firearm without a license, and other charges. Poole and a second person, Willito Colon, sat in wait in the 400 block of Green Street in December 2024. The two then opened fire on the victim when he walked onto the porch. Though several area houses were struck by gunfire, the victim was uninjured. Police who were patrolling nearby responded after hearing gunfire, only to find a vehicle driven by Poole’s mother, Lindsay Colon, speeding away in reverse on Dauphin Street. Police initiated a traffic stop. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed the odor of recently fired ammunition. Officers saw a handgun on the rear floorboard after Lindsay and Willito Colon exited the vehicle. The cases for Lindsay and Willito Colon are still pending.
