LANCASTER – A teenager charged with opening fire on a group of people in a West Hempfield Township neighborhood, then leading police on a county-wide chase, will have his case proceed to Lancaster County Court. 17-year-old Anthony Gonzalez, who has no fixed address, waived his preliminary hearing on aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a firearm by a minor, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, and other charges. Gonzalez and his 16-year-old co-defendant Emilio Medina-Aponte are accused of opening fire on the victims in the 1700 block of Columbia Avenue in West Hempfield Township in March. Both defendants remain in the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center in lieu of $150,000 bail.
