LANCASTER COUNTY – Gov. Josh Shapiro joined PA Department of Labor & Industry Secretary Nancy Walker, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation or OVR, local lawmakers, and community members at Overlook Park in Manheim Township where he met with young people and their supervisors participating in OVR’s MY Work program. MY Work continues to match high school students with disabilities with paid summer job opportunities within their communities. This summer, OVR has set up more than 500 students with paid work experiences at 100 worksites across 57 counties. Students in Lancaster County spent the summer working on landscaping and maintenance projects at public sites like Destination Playground at Overlook Park doing mulching, edging, and cleaning. Services like MY Work help employers create more inclusive workplaces while opening up life-changing opportunities for Pennsylvanians with disabilities.
