ROCK SPRINGS – Gov. Josh Shapiro joined PA Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding and agricultural leaders and producers at the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences’ annual Ag Progress Days luncheon to highlight efforts to support PA farmers, growers, and producers. PA‘s agriculture sector is a major economic driver for the state – contributing $132 billion annually and supporting nearly 600,000 jobs. The governor talked about investments to help agriculture innovate and grow – from funding the PA Farm Bill, to launching the first-in-the-nation Agricultural Innovation Grant Program, to opening new Centers of Excellence, investing in new technologies, and expanding PA Preferred.
