HARRISBURG – Citing recent headlines of legislators and other elected officials being indicted, charged or convicted of crimes, House State Government Committee Chairman, York County Rep. Seth Grove has announced a series of hearings or research meetings to review the Ethics Act, Pension Forfeiture Law, legislative auto leasing/insuring, and legislative per diem rules. Grove assigned the Subcommittee on Government Integrity and Transparency to review the Ethics Act and legislative per diem process. He assigned the Subcommittee on Public Pensions, Benefits, and Risk Management to review the Pension Forfeiture Law. Finally, the Subcommittee on Campaign Finance and Elections will review House Speaker, Rep. Bryan Cutler’s Lobbying Disclosure Act legislation. The committee will then review current laws and procedures to make recommendations on how to further discourage such behavior by elected officials that erodes public confidence.
