LANCASTER – This is the weekend to “spring ahead.” Daylight Saving Time officially starts at 2 a.m. this Sunday when clocks move forward to 3 a.m. Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. Most of Arizona and all Hawaii do not use Daylight Saving Time. Some lawmakers in Harrisburg have proposed legislation such as House Bill 335, which would allow PA to observe Daylight Saving Time year-round. Another measure, Senate Bill 384 would allow PA to opt out of Daylight Saving Time. This is also a good time to check batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms to make sure they are working.
